Myra Colby Bradwell
Subject
Portrait of Myra Bradwell
Description
This is one of the few portraits of Myra Bradwell that exist. Her outfit represents the typical dress style of most middle class Victorian women of the era. Some scholars reference her status as a respected woman and mother to show that she a "product of her time," meaning she followed the gender roles expected of her. However, her life went far beyond her presentation as a good wife and mother.
