Elementary school named after Myra Bradwell
Description
The Bradwell School of Excellence in Chicago, Illinois was founded in 1889 and named after Myra Bradwell. Bradwell was an activist for education, as seen with her commitment to the Girls’ Industrial School, and this still functioning school was the product of such devotion.
Beginning as an eight classroom building, the school has flourished into a forty classroom building that serves 730 students. The survival of this school and its continued service to Chicago children is a testament to the continued impact that Bradwell’s activism has on the world.
